This is Mara my Border Collie.
I made this for future commissions I will pay for XD I love getting drawings of my Mar-Mars
She's from working stock, so her body is lean and agile. She has pricked up ears and a purple collar. A purple Diamond shaped address tag along with a green bell shape rabies tag.

This is Mara doing the Border Collie stare. Its in their instincts to herd, but unlike most herding dogs like Shepherds and Collies, the Border Collie has a unique style that is all their own. They will stay silent and crouch down almost to the ground and stare at the target waiting with anticipation to make a calculated move.
Border Collies are rated the #1 in Intelligence. And man is it true! You can really see them thinking and trying to solve problems or figuring out what you want them to do.
If you want a short summary of the Border collie watch Dogs 101 [link] Its awesome!

What a pretty girl, and i just love the stance, it makes me so upset to see the confirmation border collies with no legs and no instinct. Personally i like the smooth coated borders collies they are so easy to keep clean lol, and yet somehow i ended up with a rough coated border collie.
I was wondering what people you know of to commission? I've been looking around but with very little success T_T

Awe thank you so much!
There really is a big difference between the dog show border collies and the working stock. The border collie association will not recognize the dog show types. The association goes by behavior, not looks and hates that they are messing with the breed. Border collies were only just recognized as its own breed in the 80s buy the AKC and UKC.

I have a link to my commissions I got of Mara made. [link] I had a really hard time finding anyone to do dog commissions too! The really good artist wanted a arm and a leg for a commission so I didnt get epic looking ones, but I really enjoyed the ones I got from *MikalaRepoli and ~Fluffysminion
I hope that helps!

Ah, Mara. I'm sorry I never drew that pic I promised you of her, I really suck at drawing dogs ^^; maybe when I've had more practice.

This pic' came out really well, you got just the right level of detail.

They're amazing dogs, I remeber there was one that had learnt the names of all its toys, and would grab whichever one its owners talked about...

81 one year old guy has 2 border collies one is 8 the other 15 from show lines (im all ways amazed with dogs how different the working line cousin is to most breeds))

he walks them twice a day every day and is so dedicated to them, they are also really obediant and laid back dogs too. My Aunty had a border named Tweed from show lines and despite what people say I love how laid back and calm them become. My other Aunty has a beared collie very similar in character and has a real affection towards people.

They are probably one of my favourite breeds of dogs ^_^
same for cockers their are show and working lines and they look completely different despite being the same breed
